How do I search for students?

Student searches are limited to members of the University of Maryland, College Park community (UM). To search for students, please use the Student Directory search page.

How do I find a particular person?

A name-based search can take several forms:

single term—searches for first, middle or last names starting with that term
last name, first—searches for exact matches on the last name where the first name starts with the given term; the first name is optional, e.g. "smith," is allowed
multiple terms—searches for partial matches; this is the most inclusive but can be slow

You may not be able to find a person for several reasons:

the individual is no longer active with the university
the name is misspelled—try the "last name sounds like" option
search limit reached—you are searching on a common name and there are more entries in the directory than can be returned for a single search—try using addition search terms or using the "last name, first" format.
